Tomb of Queen Nefertari
Introduction
- Queen Nefertari was the beloved wife of the great warrior king Ramesses II. Her husband had dedicated for her the small temple of Abu-simbel.
- Among the titles of the queen which were found inside the tomb the hereditary noblewoman, great of favor, possessor of charm, sweetness and love, mistress of upper and lower Egypt, the Osiris, the king’s great wife, mistress of the two lands, Nefertari, the beloved of Mut, revered before Osiris.
- Her tomb carried number 66 in the valley of the queens.
- The tomb is built in two levels, the first upper included an entrance stairway leading to an antechamber. To the right side of the antechamber there is a vestibule ends to an annex. From the antechamber there is a second stairway leading to the burial chamber in the second lower level. The ceiling of the burial chamber is supported by four pillars. From the burial chamber there are three annexes in west, east and north directions.
