Khan Al-Khalili is a large bazaar bounded on the east by Sayyidna al-Husayn, The original Khan or caravanserai was built in 1382 A.D. by sultan Barquq’s master of the horse, the Amir Jarkas al-Khalili.
Historically, khan al-khlili has always been a resort of foreign merchants such as Armenians, Jews, Persians and non-Egyptians Arabs. A considerable variety of souvenirs, antiques, and jewelry are offered for sale here.
